Welcome to Margaret and Georges place

Welcome to Margaret and Georges place
Come in, Come in, its nice tae see you

Hello and welcome to our place. Margaret my wife and I stay in Clydebank which is six miles west of Glasgow city centre.

We have been involved in the Bed and Breakfast business for over twelve years and in that time have met a lot of interesting people from all walks of life.

We are so central for all tourist attractions in Scotland and are only a fifteen minute drive from Glasgow International Airport. We offer a free collection service from the airport, time permitting of course.

The photos on this page are Top, Margaret and George(5) and Mark(3) two of our grandsons.

Middle is Margaret and a friend of ours who plays the Pipes in the forest above Aberfoyle in the Trossachs.
Bottom photo is my other reason for living. All our grandchildren. At the back is baby Mark who is now almost 7 months and David (10). Below them are George (6), Karyn (5) , Mark (4) and Robert (8).
The year passing

Well my friends here we are almost halfway through the year 2000 and it only seems like yesterday that we were all getting the media hype about the new Millennium. Its not been the best of starts to the new century for us. Both Margaret and I have had more than our fair share of hospital visits. I had quite a serious time at the start of February but hell you cant get rid of me yet. On a very sad note Margaret and I had online friends here a few months ago from North Carolina. Samuel and Archa Johnson and their daughter and son in law visited us for a week. It was a lovely week too. But I have just had the sad news that Sam died suddenly on April 20 from a massive heart attack. Archa, Tara, Margie and respective families an ocean separates us but our love for you all unites us. Sam my friend, Rest in Peace. Our business could have been a bit better but we must be thankful for what we had. We have met some more of our online friends too. Lucy and Ray Phillips from Washington were here in April. Lucy belongs to Glasgow and had not been home for 46 years. It was so beautiful to see the reality in her face when she arrived at Glasgow International Airport. For those of you asking after my mother, well she was 84 on April 23. Her health is still very poor. We were sent for again at the start of the year as her condition had worsened. But in true style she has rallied again. Told the Nursing Home sister that I am going to need a shotgun to claim the insurance. :) Finally I have added a photo album to our website. It has 36 photos if you double click on any thumbnail it will open the photo for you. If anyone would like to share a photo with us then please e-mail me.

My interests in life are Margaret my wife best friend and soul mate of over 30 years. We have an adult family of four and six grand children. I like country music and enjoy listening to Charlie Landsborough. While listening to my music I have been known to have a "wee" whisky or three. Humour plays a big part in my life. Where would we be without a laugh.
